Plan vessel fill, wax, fragrance and whole bags for a candle batch.
Method and practical checks
Density and fragrance load are product-specific inputs. The pre-filled density is an example, not a specification. Check the wax and fragrance suppliers’ limits.
Blend mass = fill volume × density; wax = blend mass ÷ (1 + fragrance percentage). Confirm this approximation with a measured test pour.

How the Candle Wax Calculator works
Every calculation option
From vessel volume
Measure usable fill volume and enter the density of your finished wax and fragrance blend.

Known wax per candle
Use your measured wax weight from a successful test candle.
Use measured wax mass, excluding fragrance. Fragrance mass is the selected percentage of wax mass. Allowance covers handling losses.
Worked example
Eight 250 ml vessels at 0.9 g per ml hold 1,800 g of blend. With 6% fragrance, the wax is 1,800 ÷ 1.06 ≈ 1,698 g, or 1,868 g with a 10% allowance: 2 bags of 1 kg, plus about 112 g of fragrance oil.

Reading the result
Fragrance load is a percentage of wax weight; check the maximum stated by both the wax and fragrance suppliers.
Wax density differs between soy, paraffin and blends; a test pour is the best check.
Leave the headroom your vessel and wick need rather than filling to the brim.
