How the Pizza Calculator works
Every calculation option
Slices & ordering
Enter portions for the pizza size you are ordering; slicing one pizza more finely does not create more food.
The starting portions are examples. Adjust for appetite, side dishes and slice size; the allowance is added before rounding to whole pizzas.
Compare diameters
Scale a known slice plan by pizza area when crust thickness and toppings are comparable.
Area scales with diameter squared, not diameter alone. This is a food-area comparison, not a guarantee that thin and deep-pan pizzas feed the same number.
Worked example
8 adults eating 3 slices and 4 children eating 2 need 32 slices, or 35.2 with a 10% allowance. At 8 slices per pizza that is 5 pizzas (40 slices), costing 60 at 12 each.

Reading the result
Slice counts only make sense for the pizza size you are ordering; cutting a pizza into more slices does not add food.
When comparing sizes, area grows with the square of the diameter: a 35 cm pizza has about 1.36 times the area of a 30 cm pizza.
Side dishes and dessert reduce slices eaten; reduce the portions rather than the guest count.
