Check before buying
Check that the pods fit your coffee machine, then enter the actual pod count and pack price. A reusable capsule needs a different cost model. Count pods consumed, including second coffees and guests, rather than assuming one pod per person per day.
Method and assumptions
Count the pods used for all household drinks on an average day, including drinks that need more than one pod. Multiply by the days you want to cover, subtract stock and round the remaining requirement to full packs. Use the pod count printed on the specific pack.
A monthly estimate is easier to correct when you compare it with actual use at the end of the period. Visitors, time away and a change of machine can alter the estimate. Prices are your inputs, and machine compatibility must be checked on the product label.
Worked example
30 days × 4 pods per day = 120 pods. With zero stock, 120 ÷ 40 = three packs, so the purchase contains exactly 120 pods and the estimated remainder is zero.
At a hypothetical pack price of 14, the total is 3 × 14 = 42 in the same currency. The checked result covers 30 days at the entered rate. An extra drink would use stock beyond this exact plan.
Questions and answers
Should I enter coffee drinkers or pods per day?
Enter the total pods used by the household each day. One drink may use one pod, while another may require two separate pods or a different preparation. Count the units you actually purchase and consume. The calculator estimates supplies and does not prescribe how much coffee anyone should drink.
How does existing stock change the number of packs?
Available pods are deducted from the period’s expected consumption before the calculator rounds up to complete packs. Enter stock in pods rather than unopened boxes. Keep incompatible or unwanted pods out of that stock figure, because a numerical surplus only helps when those pods can actually be used with your machine.
Does the example price include delivery or subscriptions?
No. Fourteen per pack is an editable hypothetical price used to demonstrate multiplication. Enter the price you will actually pay and account separately for delivery, discounts or subscription conditions. The calculator does not check retailer offers, renew subscriptions or assume that the cheapest pack fits your machine and preferred drink.
